Callers and Music in 2012Lynn Ackerson CA, USA
Lynn has never been in Denmark before. Last year, when I asked her to come, she became very exited, and she is looking much forward to visit Tommerup. Lynn is a very experienced and practised caller, and she is a super dancer. If Lynn is'nt calling, which she often is, you can bee shure to meet her somewhere on the dance floor. Lynn has participated in many dance camps, and you might meet her at Pinewoods Dance Camps. A good story about Lynn: She has a huge collection of coloured and patterned socks. The only thing that is bigger is her collection of thrilling contra and squares.
Cis Hinkle GA, USA
Cis was in Tommerup in 2004 and 2007, and now she will be back. Cis is a very polite, charming and experienced caller, as many of you already know. If you havn't met her before you have something to look forward to. She will offer you a good dance experience, and she wil be running a special workshop fore the "real hard core dancers". It is a pleasure to welcome her back in Tommerup.
Cis Hinkle, USABirgit Hansen. DK
Birgit is calling in Ødsted near Vejle. Birgit is a very skilful and practised caller. Shure she and John will bring all of us a fantastic Friday evening.
John Tuck. DK
John is from Jutland but former from England. He has been calling in Holstebro since 1999. In 2010 he took over in Holstebro Contra Dance, where he is doing a great job finding new dances and just the right music for those dances. John is always well prepared when he is calling at arrangements. John is the choreographer for some very good dances, perhaps we get the posibility to try some.
English Contra Dance Band. UK
It is difficult to find extra words about the two really popular musicians. Linda knows her fiddle so well, and we all enjoy her playing while we are dancing. She is an enchanting fiddleplayer and she is dancing at the stage. With Gareth on the piano, doing just the right support, it will be a fantastic experience. Listen here:
English Contra Dance Band , UKReel de Quebec. DK
Jørgen Post on fiddle, Frank Lykkeskov on guitar, Nicolas Cherenq on bass and Jeremy Newton on accordion and fiddle. Together they are one of the best Danish bands, always in the mood for fun. They can make the whole room swing, and during the interval they are always ready with a song. Last time when they played in Tommerup the Sunday ended with a Big Band together with Linda and Gareth. Hopfully a revival.
